Suit Up to Support Dive Team In Minocqua Swim Challenge

The public is invited to swimsuit-up for the upcoming Minocqua Island Swim Challenge slated for Saturday, June 21, at Torpy Park in Minocqua.

The annual challenge raises money for the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Dive Team. This year's event, co-hosted by the Lakeland Breakfast Rotary Club, will offer either a 1-mile or 400-meter open water swim in Lake Minocqua beginning at 8 a.m.

The race is open to all ages and abilities and will be supported by volunteers from the Minocqua/Kawagesaga Lakes Protection Association, Minocqua Fire and Rescue Department, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department Dive Team, Oneida County Public Safety Dive Team, and many community volunteers.

Swimmers can pre-register online through Race Roster before Thursday, June 19, at noon. An in-person sign-up will also be open Friday, June 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Torpy Park. There will be no race day sign-up available. All race participants must wear swim caps provided at the event.

"We appreciate the community for their ongoing support and look forward to another successful event," said Oneida County Sheriff's Office Captain Robert Hebein. For more information, contact Hebein at 715-361-5155.
