Revitalization Launches 'Impact Grant' to Boost Businesses
Preliminary Interest Forms Now Open for Local Businesses
The Eagle River Revitalization Program (ERRP) has launched the new Impact Grant, a competitive funding initiative aimed at fueling capital improvement projects that strengthen the local economy, support job creation, and encourage redevelopment of vacant or underutilized properties within or adjacent to the City of Eagle River.
Grant awards ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 will be available to qualifying businesses for projects such as building renovations, expansions, and new construction that contribute to the vibrancy and long-term growth of Eagle River’s Business Improvement District and surrounding areas.
"The Impact Grant is not just about improving individual businesses — it's about bringing new life to overlooked spaces and accelerating development in key areas of our community," said Karen Margelofsky, executive director of ERRP. "We want to empower business owners to take bold steps toward growth and revitalization, and this grant gives them a strong foundation to do that."
To be eligible, projects must be located within or directly adjacent to Eagle River city limits, demonstrate measurable economic impact (such as job creation, increased taxable value, or public benefit), and be completed by Dec. 31, 2026.
In addition to financial assistance, selected businesses will receive ongoing technical support and business training to ensure their project's success and sustainability.
Business Resource Meeting
To help introduce the grant and connect business owners with other valuable resources, ERRP will host a special "Fueling Growth: Business Grants, Loans & Energy Incentives" event Tuesday, July 22, at 8:30 a.m. at Eagle River City Hall.
This session will provide an overview of the Impact Grant, local lending options, and information about the Focus on Energy Pilot Program, which may offer energy efficiency incentives to select commercial properties in Eagle River. While Focus on Energy determines which businesses qualify for direct assistance, this session aims to raise awareness of the opportunity and provide key program details, Margelofsky noted.
How to Apply
Business owners who are interested in taking the first step should complete a short interest form, now available at eagleriverrevitalization.org/impactgrant. This initial step helps determine project eligibility prior to a full application, Margelofsky said.
This grant opportunity is made possible through funding from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation's Small Business Development Grant program, which supports business growth and innovation in Wisconsin's rural and underserved communities.
