Northwoods Pulse on Hiatus
Dear visitors and subscribers, here's a message from Michelle Drew, editor of Northwoods Pulse:
Hi everyone. The last week was rife with change and we've got a big announcement for you here: I've accepted a position as editor with the Vilas County News-Review (once again), and Northwoods Pulse will be on hiatus for now. My first day at the NR will be Aug. 4, and the first newspaper under my direction will be Wednesday, Aug. 13.
For the months of effort I've poured into this project, all I'd ask in return is that you remain willing to read/support NW Pulse when the time comes to return. We own the domain, we have a lifetime subscription to our web host, and we can fire this up again at will. The legwork is already done.
It wasn't an easy decision, but I believe I'm the right person to course-correct and turn the News-Review back into one of state's best newspapers. Aside from the fact that I'll make an actual salary again, the work we've been doing here will have a wider reach this way too. So, if you like what I'm doing, it's a simple change of platform to see what I'm up to over there. And for those of you who like the feeling of newsprint between your fingers, even better because you'll get to read it the old-fashioned way.
I'll be forever grateful for the positive feedback and support I received over the last couple months, and I hope if things don't work out at the newspaper you'll be willing to continue supporting and growing this project if/when I return.
Sincerely,
Michelle Drew
