Letters to the Editor policy

We welcome thoughtful and respectful letters from our readers in the Northwoods area. Your perspectives on local issues are an important part of our community dialogue. To ensure a productive and civil exchange, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Be Kind and Respectful: We encourage lively debate, but personal attacks, name-calling, and disrespectful language will not be published. Please focus on the issues, not on individuals.
  • No Slander or Libel: Letters containing false, defamatory, or libelous statements will not be considered for publication. Factual accuracy is the responsibility of the letter writer.
  • Northwoods Focus: To maintain relevance for our readership, letters should address topics of interest and concern to those living in the Northwoods region.
  • Brevity is Appreciated: While we don't have a strict word limit, concise letters are more likely to be published due to space constraints. Please aim to be clear and to the point.
  • Original Content: Submissions must be original and not have been previously published elsewhere.
  • Identification Required: Please include your full name, town of residence, and a phone number and/or email address for verification purposes. Only your name and town will be published.
  • Editor's Discretion: The editor reserves the right to edit letters for clarity, grammar, punctuation, and length. The editor also retains the sole discretion to decide which letters will be published. Submission does not guarantee publication.
  • How to Submit: Please send your letters to michelle@nwpulse.com for consideration.

We look forward to hearing from you and fostering a constructive conversation within our Northwoods community.
