Under bright skies at the Eagle River Golf Course early this week, the Eagle River Ladies Golf League lit up the course with fun, friendship, and of course some pretty good golf.

This day was special because it was a member/guest event with an entertaining theme of "Wild About Golf." Throughout the day, colorfully decorated golf carts and attire could be found with plenty of smiles as friends, family members and fellow league members played together for fun and prizes.

The Eagle River Ladies Golf League is the largest organization of its kind in Wisconsin and currently has 86 members who keep a regular schedule of weekly competition in Eagle River. The league is led by Sarah Guenther as president, and on the course by one of its founding members, Mary Ann Hansen, who helped establish the group in 1972. The current golf season for the league will run through mid-September with plenty of fun and camaraderie ahead.
