Kubacki Boxrucker Recognized as Eagle River Parade Marshal
Independence Day is only one month away, and the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center has chosen its parade marshal for 2025.
Karen Kubacki Boxrucker has been selected for the position of honor in this year's July 4 parade through downtown Eagle River for her presence within the community.
"Karen has been a very active in our community giving back," said Kim Emerson, executive director for the Eagle River chamber. "Over the last 25 years she has been making sure the bakery is in perfect running order at Cranberry Fest. She also was very active working Artarama for over 25 years, has hosted hockey players from other countries, assisted with the art show at the library, and delivers meals to seniors, just to name a few."
Parade marshals are chosen each year from nominees who make Eagle River a great place to live, work and play. Boxrucker does that by staying busy, and sharing her love of our community with our community, Emerson said. "We are all very grateful for what she does to help create a community where we all want to be."
Eagle River's Fourth of July festivities will kick off at 10 a.m. downtown with food, a beer garden and entertainment by DJ Chris and Tiffany at the intersection of Wall and Main streets. The parade will progress down Wall Street beginning at 11 a.m. After, the street will remain closed from First to Railroad streets for people to take part in the Party in the Street activities until 3 p.m.

Local businesses, community groups and families are invited to create a themed float or display for Eagle River's July 4 parade. Emerson noted this parade is successful thanks to it being a volunteer parade.
"Our community members from within the Eagle River area make it extra special by showcasing their time, talents, organizations and businesses," Emerson said. There is no cost to be in the parade, but all entrants must include red, white and blue in their parade units, she noted.
Parade units should be registered with the Eagle River chamber by Friday, June 27, so organizers are able to assign line-up numbers and locations prior to the day of the celebration. There will be slots available at check-in the day of the parade, but Emerson stressed that early registration helps the procession run smoothly.
