Thanks to a tourism grant, the Eagle River Revitalization Program (ERRP) has been able to start construction on a 10-foot by 30-foot shed at the site of the Eagle River Farmers Market just north of the bridge on Highway 45.

The project began as an attention-grabbing hole in the ground a couple weeks back, and is now turning into a fully-formed structure. With a little help from local tradesmen, the shed will improve the location by providing water spigots and electricity for farmers market vendors and others utilizing the area for fundraising events.

ERRP Executive Director Karen Margelofsky is excited about the project, not only because it will get some of the clutter out of her office and into an organized storage space, but also because it will open up a new community space for use by a number of various groups.

Besides being used throughout the summer for market needs, the shed can also hold seasonal town decorations, as well as act as a headquarters for various nonprofit fundraisers throughout the year. She noted the Sno-Eagles Snowmobile Club has already expressed interest in holding winter fundraising events at the site.

Margelofsky said this community project wouldn't have been possible without funding from the Eagle River Tourism Promotion and Development Grant Program, as well as local businesses including CornerStone Custom Builders, American Eagle Concrete, Schneider Electric and Eagle River Light and Water providing their services.
