Early Registration Open Now for Muskie Tournament
Calling all muskie anglers! Early registration for the 39th annual National Championship Musky Open Tournament is open now through Aug. 1.
This family-friendly event, hosted by the Eagle River Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center along with the Musky Clubs Alliance of Wisconsin, brings in amateur anglers and fishing enthusiasts from all over the country Aug. 15-17.
There are a variety of trophy categories in the tournament, including an overall winner (by inches), husband/wife team, and youth winner. In addition to fishing for muskie on one of the seven lake families in the Eagle River area, participants are eligible to win door prizes and raffle prizes. Every participating angler has a chance to win the brand new 2025 Model 895 DC Recon Boat with a 115 Mercury Outboard Motor and Trailer in the grand prize drawing Sunday afternoon whether you catch a muskie or not. (Must be present to win.)
Pre-registration costs $75 per angler (by Aug. 1) and helps to ensure a fishing spot on the participant's preferred lake family. Pre-registering also helps guarantee the correct tournament hat and t-shirt size.
If any angler wishes to enter this tournament, registrations information can be received by registering online at muskyopen.com or by calling the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center at 800-359-6315. After Aug. 1, registration will be taken at the tournament headquarters at Vilas County Fairgrounds starting Thursday evening, Aug. 14. The cost is $80 if registering at tournament headquarters. A portion of proceeds go toward fish stocking and habitat improvement.
The Vilas County Fairgrounds are located on Highway 70 West, just blocks from downtown Eagle River. For more information about the event and to register, contact the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center or go online and visit muskyopen.com.
