CNNF Forest Roads Close Temporarily for Culvert Replacements

A portion of Forest Road 2533 at the Deerskin River and St. Louis Road will be closed this week and next for a culvert replacement. Work is scheduled to take place July 7-18.

This closure is in addition to a number of anticipated projects this season, reported by the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. Plans are in place to temporarily close sections of forest roads in Ashland, Bayfield, Florence, Forest, Oconto, Price, Sawyer, Taylor and Vilas counties to replace culverts this summer.

Other scheduled project nearby include the Kentuck Creek at Forest Road 2176 in Vilas, and the Franklin Lake Outlet at Forest Road 2181 in Forest County. The dates of these closures have yet to be determined by forestry staff.

While sections of road are temporarily closed, travelers are encouraged to check electronic resources for current route information and/or bring along a paper map, as well as plan for extra travel time.
